SAINT GREGORY’S GRIZZLIES
(Children Ages 8-12)
Our "Grizzly" program combines enrichment workshops with all of our traditional camp activities such as swimming, sports, games, arts and crafts! Children travel through their morning activities with their group and learn to work, socialize and have fun together. In the afternoon, campers choose from a wide variety of enrichment workshops and work closely with a teacher on skills they would like to develop more fully. All campers participate in a structured morning swim program and a free swim in the afternoon.

GRIZZLY ENRICHMENT WORKSHOPS
Pre-Camp Enrichment
This summer we offer an opportunity to get ready for the coming school year. From 8:00-9:00A.M. campers are able to work on their Reading and Math skills. Bring your summer reading list and read for the first half hour each morning. On the last week of summer camp spend the time working with our teachers to write your book reports. Then sharpen your Math skills for the last half hour working in small groups playing math games, doing reinforcement exercises on the computer or solving daily math problems. These programs are available to campers registered for the pre-camp care program.
Kaleidosports
Campers will participate in a different sporting event each day! They will compete, tournament style, in soccer, basketball, kickball, pickle ball, floor hockey, capture the flag and many more!

Tae Kwon-do
If you want to improve your strength, flexibility, coordination, endurance, and self-confidence, this is the workshop for you! Tae kwon-do can build skills such as hand eye coordination and balance that carry over into other sports. So come join us and our certified Tae kwon-do instructor to have some fun!

Golf
What's your handicap? We have the perfect way to work on your stoke to improve your score on the links! Join our golf pros as you learn to chip and putt like Tiger Woods.

Yoga
What's the oldest form of exercise Yoga, the mastery of mind and body learn the basic positions and stretches that you can build on as you explore the ancient art of Yoga.

Cooking
Look out Rachel Ray! The summer kitchen bubbles with excitement again this year as campers learn to prepare delicious dinners and scrumptious desserts!

Moving Models
Campers will build and decorate model cars, boats, planes and rockets. Following each kit's directions, we will sand, glue and paint each vehicle to make it uniquely your own.

Scrapbooking
Bring your pictures and your memories of a great vacation, of a class trip, or just of family and friends and we will create a scrapbook to share those memories and keep them safe.

Go Fly a Kite!
This class is for the student that wants to learn about the principles of flight, just like Ben Franklin did! We will start with simple wind socks and build our own unique diamond, box or animal kite. Let's hope for a windy day!

Knot tying and Beading
Love those necklaces and bracelets that everyone wears and shares? Want to learn how to make your own? Then this is the class for you. Learn how to make a twist and a braid or a special series of knots. Then add a few beads and you have a special gift to share with your friends.

Ceramic Crafts
Students will pick their favorite precast piece from a large assortment. They will learn paint techniques such as brush strokes, sponge applications, stamps and stencils and will practice before they get to paint their masterpieces. All pieces will be finished with a nontoxic glaze.

Robotics
Using Lego Robotics for Children, campers will build and program small vehicles, figures and objects. At the end of the week, campers can place their inventions in an obstacle course competition! Future engineers come try out this extraordinary workshop!

Make your own Comic Book
Start with a superhero that you create and then dream of the adventure your hero will have by the end of the week you will produce your own comic book featuring your hero in that special adventure.

Guitar
Have you ever dreamed of being a rock star? Come and check out our guitar workshop and learn the basics of acoustic guitar. Your teacher will provide basic instruction in a small group setting. Beginners through intermediate levels are welcome. Participants will need their own guitars.

Be a Summer Star!
Drama taken to a new level This workshop is for budding actors, actresses and movie makers. Campers will collaborate in small groups to act out a skit or short play, then shoot and edit the videotapes. They will have tons of fun while learning teamwork, theater skills and the cinematic art form.

Mystery Luncheon Theater
Do you love to read mystery books think you can write a plot that is hard to solve? Spend the week working on a mystery and share it at Friday's lunch. Describe your characters and choose your victim and see if our hungry audience can solve the mystery!

Jug Band
Have you ever tried to make music with pots and pans in the kitchen, tapping on bottles or plucking on rubber bands? Then this is your opportunity to join with fellow musicians and let the whole camp hear that unique sound of a jug band.

Magic
Have you ever dreamed of sneaking around Hogwart's Castle late at night with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley? Well, our magician doesn't have invisibility cloaks, but he can give you a magic wand and teach you the tricks of the trade. Amaze your friends and family with the mystery and enchantment of magic.
