Saint Gregory’s Knights’ Society

The Knights Program is a leadership development program for students in grades 5 through 8. Students earn Knights Credits by taking on leadership positions in the school and through participation in community service projects. As they accumulate points, students have the opportunity to move up the ranks of the Knights Society from Page to Squire to Nobleman to Knight. When a student develops and completes a significant special project, they can achieve the rank of Knight Templar.

Mission: Through participation in the Knights’ Society students will learn to be honest, caring, responsible and successful leaders both at Saint Gregory’s and in the world. Students will develop:

  • Pride in their School
  • Self discipline
  • Intrinsic motivation
  • Team building skills
  • Courteous behavior
  • The ability to motivate others
  • The ability to organize and lead events
  • An understanding of the importance of being positive role models in the Saint Gregory’s Community

The students involved in the Knights’ Society will demonstrate these qualities through participation in the following types of activities:

  • Being a captain of an athletic team
  • Participating in community projects
  • Being a peer tutor
  • Participating in community service projects within the Saint Gregory’s Community
  • Knights Credits Sheet

Parents and alumni are encouraged to be involved in our students’ education by participating in school events and by working on the various committees of the Board of Trustees. Parents contribute to the School through their help on field trips, their support of athletic teams, their referring new families to the School, and their involvement in School events. Parents also bring their expertise and wisdom to committees that focus on marketing the School, development and technology, as well as being involved in the Parents’ Association.

Opportunities to volunteer in the School take a wide variety of forms and change regularly. If you would like to be more involved in the School as a volunteer, please contact the Headmaster Alan Barr at (518)785-6621 or
