Justin Vanderhoef Collects 600+ Books for the Schenectady Mission. April 26, 2010
Most young boys ask for sports equipment, video games, or i-Tunes cards for their birthday. SGS fifth grader, Justin Vanderhoef had a different idea. Justin celebrated his birthday by organizing a book drive for the City Mission of Schenectady. The Mission has just built a new library for its clients and Justin thought he would help fill the shelves. He advertised his book drive in the school, in his neighborhood, and in his church. Justin collected over 600 books. . . . .3 car loads full! Justin’s family and Head of School, Mr. Loomis, delivered the books to the Mission. The Times Union was on hand to photograph the event. Well done Justin!
