In the Classroom March 2, 2010
On Wednesday, February 24, the Kindergarten class celebrated Chinese New Year! They made lanterns to celebrate the event and invited a parent, Dr. Pan, to read a story. Dr. Pan also taught the boys the traditional lion dance. What a great way to learn about another culture!
Under the tutelage of Mr. Repicky, the sixth grade science class constructed magnets out of rulers, wire, batteries and iron nails. The boys worked in teams to complete the project. Upon completion, the nails were made magnetic and were able to pick up paper clips, staples, and tacks.
Back in the Kindergarten classroom, writing skills were honed as the students authored their own books. Stories were created, written, and illustrated by each boy. We may have some budding authors amongst us.
