Lower School

Who We Are

Students are taught by caring, creative and highly knowledgeable teachers who strive to meet each student’s learning needs with a variety of instructional methods. Parent involvement is essential to the students’ success and is an integral component of the Lower School program.

Balancing the academic program with the students’ social, emotional and physical growth is important. Learning to be a kind, respectful and responsible person is revered. Daily recess and physical education class are considered a necessity for each student’s physical well-being and healthy learning.

What We Do

The Saint Gregory’s School Lower School provides a nurturing learning environment with a stimulating and challenging program which focuses on the development of the total child. The Lower School curriculum reflects our dedication to academic excellence and preparing students for the 21st Century. A comprehensive reading and language arts program coupled with hands-on learning activities in math, science and social studies provide a strong basic curriculum. Art, music, technology, Spanish, library and physical education as well as community service opportunities, field trips and guest speakers help to construct a broad and deep foundation of skills and knowledge for the development of the whole child.

Since opening its doors in 1962, our faculty and staff have built a unique curriculum to challenge each child.  For more information about our curriculum, take a look at our detailed lower-school-curriculum-map.
