Computers and Technology

The Computer and Technology program at Saint Gregory’s is designed to give students a solid understanding of computer skills that will enhance their current and future academic work, and to provide insight into and experience with the nature of computing. Keyboarding skills, word processing, graphic design, desktop publishing, spreadsheets and Internet research are covered, where appropriate, from kindergarten through 8th grade. The use of computer technology is often integrated with other disciplines. In the 6th and 7th grades, students take a two-year programming course using C++ language. The ultimate goal of Computers and Technology at Saint Gregory’s is to provide the necessary skills to use current programs, to instill the ethical use of information found on the Internet, and to develop an understanding of programming.
