Inside Saint Gregory's
Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of School is Saint Gregory’s?
Saint Gregory’s is a Catholic, independent school. We have small classes and give individual attention to students as they pursue challenging academic studies. As an independent school, our policies are set by a Board of Trustees made up of parents, alumni and community leaders.
Is Saint Gregory’s School only for Catholics?
No. Children of many faiths attend and are welcome. We enjoy the privilege of partaking in a school with spiritual traditions and practice.
Why is Saint Gregory’s primarily a Boys' School?
Saint Gregory’s was founded in 1962 by a group of parents who recognized the need for a boys’ school to complement the existing girls’ schools in the Capital Region. Research and experience have, since then, shown the many benefits of single sex education.
What Sports Are Offered?
A wide variety, including soccer, volleyball, wrestling, track, baseball, softball, and basketball…even cross country skiing! In our sports programs everyone participates and plays.
Is Financial Aid Available?
Yes. Parents interested in applying for financial aid, which is based on need, should contact the School. All inquiries and distributions are completely confidential.
Is Transportation Available?
Yes. Most school districts are required to provide busing to all Saint Gregory’s students who live within a fifteen (15) mile radius. Parents form car pools for those outside this distance.
Are Books Provided?
Yes. We arrange for all necessary textbooks.
Are Uniforms Required?
In grades K-8 uniforms are required. Upon admission we provide all of the necessary information.
